The Next Generation receive a visit from the current generation

Air Cadets from 480 (Studley) Squadron Air Training Corps received a visit from members of staff from the Coventry Armed Forces Careers Office for an evening of activities designed to give a taste of different branches and trades within the Royal Air Force.

The cadets took part in activities involving electronics, meal planning, logistics and aircraft knowledge. All of the activities involved elements required in roles in the RAF such as Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic, Engineering Officer, Mover, Supplier, Logistics Officer, Air Traffic Controller and Aerospace Battle Manager.

The cadets certainly found the evening useful. Cadet Poxson said “ the staff from the AFCO were great and answered all my questions on the RAF. The activities that we did have really helped me to consider what options that I would consider when joining the RAF in a few years time”.

The Officer Commanding 480 Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Mark Hulme, said “The cadets really enjoyed the evening and got a real insight into the different roles available should they wish to join the RAF”.
